- Have your older children practice spelling words.
- Place a group of letters on the work surface and ask your child to pick up a particular letter.
- Point to an object in the room you are in and ask your child to pick up the manipulative with the correct beginning sound.
- Make the initial letter sound and have your child pull out the corresponding letter.
- Place the letters of the alphabet in order on the workspace, remove several and have your child fill in the missing letters.
- Take out a group of the letters or numbers and have your child replace them on the panel while making the sound of each letter or saying the name of the number.
- Place a group of numbers on the work surface and ask your child to put up a particular number.
- Ask your child to place “X” number of Fat Cats on the work surface.
- Ask your child to count a group of objects in the room and select the correct number from the panel.
- Use the colored discs that come as part of the Math is Fun! series to practice colors.
